To make a fabric lamb::

Pattern makes a 6 x 6-inch stuffed lamb.
Use medium-weight cotton; place pattern
pieces on the straight of the grain, indicated
by arrows.  A 1/4" seam allowance has been
included.  Cut out one pair each of body and
underbody; two pair of ears; one head gusset.

EARS-With right sides together, stitch ear
front to ear back leaving botton open for
turning.  Trim tips, clip curves, turn and
press.  Fold raw edges inside, slip-stitch
closed.

UNDERBODY-With right sides together, pin
both underbody pieces together. Stitch from
top corners toward center about an inch,
stopping at small circles.  Leave open where
indicated.

LEGS-With right sides together, align one
underbody piece with corresponding body
piece and pin.  Starting at one end of
underbody, stitch around legs to the other
end.  Repeat for the remaining side.

GUSSET-Place the narrow end of the gusset
toward the nose; pin and stitch into place
with right-sides together.  Repeat for the
other side.

UPPER BODY- Align both upper body pieces;
pin and stitch together where necessary so
that only one opening remains on the
underbody.

Clip curves and turn right-side out. Stuff
firmly, filling head, legs and tail first.  NOTE:
Legs will splay if not stuffed firmly enough at
the top.   Turn under seam allowances on
belly and slip-stitch closed.

FACE-use small buttons for eyes, or felt
cut-outs if making a toy for small children.
Take a few stitches with pink embroidery
floss for nose.  Tack ears into place as
indicated on pattern.
To make a felt lamb::

Lamb shown above, is made
from wool felt.  To adapt the
free pattern for felt, remove
the seam allowance by cutting
along the broken (stitch)
lines.  Use a blanket stitch
or whip-stitch to sew the
sections together.
*free patterns are given for personal use.
